Blue Mountains Hosts Free Music Industry Networking Event for Local Artists

Blue Mountains, a vibrant hub for local artists, is set to host an exciting free networking event in the music industry. The Blue Mountains Cultural Centre in Katoomba will be the venue for the Sound Advice Social, organized in collaboration with MusicNSW. The event, scheduled for Friday, April 4, aims to bring together musicians, festival organizers, and venue managers from the area.

Kelly Hellmrich, the Western Sydney Coordinator of MusicNSW, will spearhead the informal gathering, providing a platform for attendees to engage in music-related discussions and forge new connections. The event, running from 6 pm to 8 pm, will feature not only networking opportunities but also musical performances and light refreshments in the Cultural Centre foyer.

Mark Greenhill, the Mayor of Blue Mountains City Council, emphasized the significance of music in the local community, highlighting the role it plays in shaping the region’s artistic identity. He acknowledged the multitude of talented musicians and industry professionals residing in the area, all of whom contribute to the cultural tapestry through performances, events, and festivals.

The Sound Advice Social, a collaborative effort between MusicNSW and Blue Mountains City Council’s Cultural Development Team, aims to facilitate dialogue and foster connections among local artists and industry leaders, be it seasoned professionals or emerging talents. Eric Holowacz, the Arts and Culture Manager at the Council, underscored the Cultural Centre’s role as a creative hub that extends beyond being a gallery, offering a space for community engagement and creative expression.

The event underscores the commitment of the Blue Mountains community to supporting its artistic talents and providing a platform for creative growth. With a focus on industry development and fostering a sense of connectivity, the Sound Advice Social seeks to strengthen the local music scene and enhance the region’s cultural vibrancy.

While the event is free to attend, spaces are limited, emphasizing the importance of early registration to secure a spot. Interested individuals are encouraged to reach out to MusicNSW via email or register online to participate in this enriching opportunity to network and engage with fellow music enthusiasts. The Sound Advice Social promises to be a valuable occasion for local artists to connect, collaborate, and further enrich the musical landscape of the Blue Mountains region.
