Billy Strings has collaborated with Third Man Records, founded by Jack White, to release a special limited edition vinyl, Vault No. 66. This exclusive release, in partnership with Reprise Records, marks the 66th installment of the Vault series. It includes a 20-track, 4LP live recording titled Billy Strings Live in Rosemont, along with the first-ever vinyl pressing of Strings’ self-titled debut EP from 2016.
The live recording, captured on May 25th, 2024, during a performance at Allstate Arena in Rosemont, IL, features a diverse selection of songs ranging from fan-favorites and deep cuts to traditional bluegrass covers. The setlist includes originals like “Fire Line”, “Hellbender”, and “Home”, as well as timeless classics such as “John Hardy”, “Ruby”, and “Ridin’ That Midnight Train”. Noteworthy moments from the performance include Billy Failing’s original track “So Many Miles”, featuring the banjoist on lead vocals, Strings’ solo renditions of “Give The Fiddler A Dram”, “Whistling Rufus”, and “Ragtime Annie”, and a special guest appearance by Strings’ father Terry Barber for a heartwarming finale.
Subscribers of the Vault series will receive both albums as part of their membership. Interested fans have until midnight CT on October 31st to sign up for either a quarterly subscription ($75) or an annual subscription ($280). Apart from the quarterly vault packages, subscribers can enjoy various benefits such as exclusive media access, pre-sales, entry to the members-only Vault store, a 10% discount site-wide and in-store, $50 off the first year on nugs.net, a 10% tab discount at The Blue Room Bar in Nashville, and a 30% discount on 12 months of streaming on Qobuz.
